There are more public schools in the country than their are private schools. Most public schools, since they are cheaper and more attainable by the public are built to hold more students than the average private school. The school system in the United States is struggling so funding for improvement to schools on any level, including energy efficiency is limited. Private, making more money, have a potential to invest more in better energy systems. These factors put together show that public schools do indeed use more energy than private schools.
