Do plants grow better in warmer weather?

That would depend greatly on the particular plant.  There are plants that thrive in deserts, tropical climates, in the ocean, and even in the Arctic.  According to a house plant guide that I found, foliage house plants prefer temperatures between 70 and 80 fahrenheit.  However, flowering plants like cooler night temperatures, which also help to lengthen the life of the flower.

Outdoor plants that you might plant in your backyard have certain sun and shade requirements, and it is important to make sure they get enough water during the hotter months or the leaves can begin to dry out and slow growth.
