Do people in America still die from bee stings?

Yes, it is estimated that about 50 people die each year in the U.S. due to allergic reactions to bee stings. While over 2 million people are allergic to bees and similar insects, the severity of reactions varies widely, and reactions can become worse with each new sting. If someone knows they are severely allergic to insect stings, it is important to carry some form of epinephrine (such as an Epi Pen) to control an allergic reaction until they can be taken to a hospital.
