They do get hot, but no hotter than the average tar paper covered rooftop. Both absorb about the same amount of solar radiation (sunlight), so neither one should heat up more than the other. There shouldn’t be much danger of getting burned, but I wouldn’t recommend touching them on a hot day, just in case you might get burned.
