Scientists often speculate about the coloring of Pandas as it is so unusual and unlike any other bear. Many believe that the coloring does provide camouflage for the bears since they often live in snowy, rocky areas. This would allow them to blend in with their surroundings better than being a solid color. Luckily, Pandas are fairly docile creatures that do not have to rely on camouflage for hunting for survival and, because of their size, are not often preyed upon.
Since pandas don’t have many natural enemies, it is not important for them to blend into their surroundings. However, their black and white coats are camouflaged in the winter, when snow is all around. During the spring, they can be seen more clearly.
