When Palm Trees are first planted they do require a lot of water. It really depends on which species you are planting as well. In general, water daily for the first two weeks. Slowly reduce the amount of waterings over the next year as it situates itself. Once a Palm Tree is more mature and its roots fully established, it can survive with minimal irrigation. While Palm Trees are associated with desert climates they only grow near large sources of water, such as an Oasis, in nature.
