Do night lights use electricity during the day?

The whole point of a night light is to be a small light that turns on only when it is dark. So night lights have light detectors in them and turn themselves on only when it is dark out. When it is light out, the night light remains off. Every electronic devise that is plugged into a wall continually uses a small amount of electricity, but since a night light is so small its latent use is very low. Electronics that use more latent energy are printers, computers, scanners, televisions, DVD players, and game consoles. The website below records a night light’s energy use as 5 watts a day or only .5 watts for an LED night light.
