Do animals need fiber in their diet like we do?

It depends on if they are herbavores or carnivores.  Herbivores have long digestive tracks and stomachs that are low in acid levels.  They, like humans, require fiber to aid in the digestive process.  Carnivores, on the other hand, do not require fiber in their diet.  Their digestive tracts are very smooth and are a fraction of the length of herbirores’.  Also, their stomachs are about 20 times more acidic.  Because of these factors, they do not need fiber in their diets.
