Do more people live in the Arctic or Antarctica?

There are no natives to Antarctica.  The only people there are researches from a variety of countries operating under The Antarctic Treaty.  Since “The Arctic” refers to the area above the arctic circle and therefore includes parts of the United States, Alaska and Scandinavian countiries, it is almost certain that more people live in “The Arctic”.

In the Arctic there are about 4 million people living permanently there. In Antarctica, there are no permanent residents. The population mainly consists of scientist and researchers and varies from 1000 to 4000 in number.
