Although I have no empirical evidence to back this up, I would assume that monkeys, like humans, can gain an acquired taste for beer. But unlike humans, monkeys surely don’t have the cognitive ability to recognize the addictive and ill effects alcohol presents. Therefore, it would be deadly to give monkeys access to booze.
There have been instances of treeshrews and lorises, two primate-like animals, drinking the fermented nectar of malasian palms, but not getting tipsy from the alcohol. There is no evidence of animal primates consuming beer recreationally, although there are plenty of instances of members of the homo sapien species exhibiting primate-like behavior under the influence.
Everyone likes beer!
