Do microwaves of today produce less radiation than the original ones?

Microwaves actually use non-ionizing radiation, which does not damage molecules. This type of radiation does not irritate the food, but only heats it up. Microwave technology has considerably advanced in the past decades and we now have access to better materials. Therefore, microwaves are alot safer than they use to be twenty years ago (Microwave Wizard, 2009).
