Do malls cut down on transportation costs for shoppers?

Shopping at a mall can reduce your transportation cost, as long as the mall is within a reasonable distance from home. As long as the trip to and from the mall is less driving distance than an alternate trip with separate stops at each store, then you will save fuel by making one trip to a mall. The fuel cost for separate trips adds up when you consider all the time spent in traffic, parking, and re-starting the car engine.
