Do male seahorses really give birth?

Yes, male seahorses become pregnant and give birth to their offspring.

During mating, the female inserts her oviduct into the male’s brooding pouch several times. The male attaches himself to a plant after getting the eggs correctly in place in his brood pouch. The oviduct recedes within a few hours and the eggs are fertilized and hatched into the male’s pouch.

After several weeks, the males give birth.
