Do a lot of people in the Northeast get their water from the great lakes?

    Yes, a lot of people in the northeast use that water. People who live in Ohio use about 4.3 billion gallons of the water that flows through lake Eire each day. 530 million gallons of that is used for drinking water. About 80% of New York’s surface water comes from Lake Ontario, Lake Eire, and the St. Lawrence river. Those lakes are very important to the people who live in the northeast.
