Because cotton is not a food item the growers don’t have as strict of rules about how much and when pesticides can be applied. As a result they tend to use more chemicals and closer to the harvest then food products. Buying organic cotton is a great way to reduce the amount of harsh pesticides going into our environment and bodies.
