Yes, industrialized nations have far wore pollution than third-world country, or non-industrialized nations. This is not due to any benign ideas or leaders, it is simply because manufacturing has the ability to outproduce pollution created by non-manufacturing techniques. A group of twenty people hand-sewing items, will not put out as much pollution as a textile mill simply because there is energy needed and that energy if it does not already have negative environmental impacts its post-use byproduct probably will.
