do impatients tolerate acidic soil

  1. 0 Votes

Impatiens grow best in neutral soil, but can tolerate pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.5.

You can buy pH testing kits to find out the pH of your soil.  If it is too acidic, you can increase pH by adding limestone or wood ash.  If the soil is too basic, you can decrease pH by adding sphagnum peat, elemental sulfur, or organic mulches.
