Most grocery stores have convenient plastic bag recycling centers that require you to do nothing more than bring them back to the grocery store. Bags that are severely dirty or covered in foreign substances are typically not recyclable, but otherwise grocery stores will accept most plastic bags, even if they originated from a different store.
When recycling plastic bags, whether at your local grocery store or recycling center, also make sure they are dry.
