Do humpback whales sing to attract mates?

Humpback whales sing as a part of a mating ritual. Interestingly enough, the sounds that they use are complex melodies, but there is a different strata of recorded whale song that does not seem for that purpose that scientists have detected humpbacks regularly employing. There is a theory that the song may be used for navigational purposes as well, considering the poor visibility in the depths that humpbacks dwell in.
