Do human brains make new neurons?

A neuron is produced when a particular brain cell is stimulated constantly. This is a part of the learning process, a physical reaction to concepts that become understood.  An interesting detail is that the rate of neurogenisis (neuron creation) is increased via physical activity. A sound body is apparently a sound mind!

Yes.  The process of the brain creating a new cell is called neurogenesis and occurs into old age.  The primary areas of the brain involved in neurogenesis are the hypocampus (which is in charge of memory) and the olofactory (which is in charge of smell.  New brain cells also have the ability to process old information and make connections with older neurons, thereby rejuvinating them.
