Do homes that use coal for heat experience higher levels of mercury poisoning than homes that don’t?

    Mercury emissions from coal producing plants pollute lakes and rivers and can be hazardous to fish and wildlife.  Coal production also releases mercury into the air that can cause hazards to human health if inhaled.
