Do homes with high ceilings use more energy?

Not necessarily. High ceilings are becoming a trend among new, custom homes. However, if they are engineered properly they won’t have a negative effect on energy costs. Builders properly insulate the home based on the heat load and thus are able incorporate high ceilings into
    energy efficient homes.
