Do the government rebates for green efficient cars help increase demand?

Yes, they do.  Partly because the hype for electric vehicles is so big right now, the government’s supplementary rebates give people the extra push they need to go ahead and buy themselves a fuel-efficient vehicle.  Buyers want to take advantage of the federal aid while they can still get it.  By increasing potential demand, the government is helping car manufacturers to want to build more fuel-efficient vehicles to offer to the public.
