do giraffes live in the rainforest?

Giraffes do not live in the rainforest.  They are typically found in the dry savannas and open woodlands of Africa.  They spend a lot of time out in the sun and eating from trees, hence why their tongues are black.  This is a way to protect their tongue from becoming sunburned after being exposed to so much sunlight.

Giraffes are actually found in the savannahs of Africa. They like the open grassy areas with few trees so they can run and search for food. They feed on the trees that grow in the savannah. Girafees are not found in any rainforests in the world.
