Yes, flood waters are often contaminated with multitudes of hazardous substances. Depending, to a degree, on the surroundings and local sanitation conditions, flood water, along with local water supplies, are often polluted with toxins, chemicals, animal carcasses, septic seepage, and sewage. This contributes to the spawning of highly-contagious in flood waters and in tainted water supplies. A list of these diseases includes, but is certainly not limited to:
