do fireworks lead to water pollution?

In addition to contaminating the air with chemicals like ozone, sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide, fallout from fireworks does pollute bodies of water.  Even fireworks shows that do not take place over a body of water can result in firework debris being carried by rain into lakes and streams.  Sulfur dioxide from sulfur combustion leads to acid rain that can damage vegetation and water sources.
