Do faster growing trees like bamboo use a lot of carbon?

Bamboo trees are somewhat porous (at least at the core), and so their carbon density is not that great to begin with. The overall amout of carbon used is likely relatively little. However, if you are measuring carbon used over time, that’s a different matter. Since it grows faster, it will likely use more carbon during growth spurts than slower growing trees.
