Do solar farms use a lot of water?

Yes, many large scale solar farms are actually solar water heating areas, heating water through the use of the sun to create steam and run turbines. This becomes a very pertinent issue in areas with dry climates and low water tables – which often have high solar access and as a result attract the solar companies.

But the counter point is that the solar farms often have a closed loop water system, so the water is constantly being reused, instead of wasted.
