Not all of them do, but I have been to larger farmers markets where local beef, pork, and chicken was sold. Jerky and eggs are also usually sold there as well. It all depends upon what the locals sell in your town.
I highly recommend purchasing eggs from farmers markets. The farmers market near me (duboce triangle in San Francisco) has the tastiest eggs I’ve ever had. Granted they’re $8 for a dozen, but they’re so so worth it.
The market also has sustainable meat available.
There are markets that have organic meats. The Union Square Greenmarket in New York City has a wide variety of organic meats and farm fresh eggs. You are able to meet the people who raise the animals and talk to them about the sustainable actions.
