Farmers rarely know exactly where their corn is going when they grow it. They get paid a price for their corn regardless of what it’s going to be used for. Corn often gets pooled together in reservoirs where it is then distributed to different buyers to be used for different reasons like animal feed, food production, and of course, bio fuel. Farmers get the same money either way, however, and just try to make the most amount of corn that is humanly possible on the smallest plot of land.
