Do environmentalists have a problem with the climate bill?

Some environmental groups and individuals are unhappy with Congress’s current attempts at drafting a climate bill, emphasizing that they do not go far enough to combat climate change and reduce America’s GHG emissions. While most mainstream groups will support whatever progress is made in support of climate, some of the more extreme wings of the environmental movement dismiss the climate bill as a halfway measure that caters to big business.

Furthermore, especially in light of the recent oil disaster in the Gulf, many environmentalists (as well as ordinary citizens who don’t necessarily identify with an environmentalist cause) do not believe that current drafts limit Big Oil enough to prevent future environmental disasters.
