Yes, they do; the name “dung beetles” comes from these beetles’ feces-based diet. Some feed exclusively on dung, while others also feed on other things – for example, mushrooms, decaying leaves and fruits. Dung beetles prefer herbivores’ feces to carnivores’ feces.
