No. Drip systems supply a very small area around the plant with just enough water for that single plant to thrive. This method of watering saves water because you don’t loose as much water to evaporation or the water sinking to the soil out of reach by the plant, or getting used by weed plants instead of your intended plant. The plant grows just like it should but you use less water then conventional watering methods.
