    I believe so. Not only do different types of soil have different melting temperatures, they have different consistencies that would change how they absorb and retain heat. People build homes out of clay for a reason. “The coarser the soil texture, the more it will absorb and retain heat from the sun. Granite is especially heat retentive. Dark colored soil has a lot of organic matter and also retains heat well. Dark colors absorb heat more effectively than light colors, which reflect the heat.” (link below)
