Different trees do “soak up” different amounts of CO2. Even if they are the same size, different trees have varying levels of growth rate and internal activity. Trees that are growing at higher rates will be using up more CO2 than others. The tree’s position in the canopy also will affect how much CO2 it will take up because if it is getting less sunlight, it will not be producing glucose as quickly as some other trees.
