do dangerous gasses come from old mines?

The gases in mines are most commonly oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane. Carbon monoxide can be rampant, as well as carbon dioxide. Methane is dangerous in its own way, which is to say it is the most flammable of the mine gases. Other dangerous mine gases appear in the form of hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen, ethylene, nitrous oxide.
