Do cows produce more methane or CO2?

Cows produce more CO2 than methane, as it is emitted from both the respiratory system and digestive system. Cows emit several times more CO2 than methane, roughly nine times more. However, methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, approximately 4 times stronger than CO2. Either way you look at it, feedlot cattle produce a whole lot of greenhouse gases.
