Believe it or not, the largest irrigation system in the world is Pakistan’s Indus Basin Irrigation System. The maze of streams is run by the government and covers 14.3 million hectacres. The massive system of linked canals helps from the backbone of the country’ agriculture and enables Packistan to sustain crops despite the country’s dearth of rainwater during the dry season.
