    Yes, they do.  But there are great ways of keeping them out, too!  There are several ways of doing so.  You need to bury the food scraps.  When buried, be sure and cover it with a few layers of grass/leaves.  Never put meat or dairy food scraps in a compost bin.  You should have an entire other set up for those.  Always keep the compost pile damp.  What rodents are looking for is shelter and food.  They can’t build shelter in a damp environment.  One another way, that sometimes works, is to plant mint nearby the compost pile.  This works for people sometimes.
