Do the chunks of ice breaking off melting polar ice pose a danger to ships?

Unseen larger icebergs may damage today’s ships, but not necessarily sink them. It did work for the titanic, so not ruling out the possibility but these chunks that break off the polar ice can impede ships paths across the sea and may strike the vessels causing scraping or denting of the hull. This could be dangerous, but ships have state of the art navigation systems which tend to avoid ice chunks floating about.
