Do chimpanzees mourn their dead?

Chimpanzees have been known to show mourning for the dead of their own kind. It has been observed in multiple instances that they enter a period of mourning, where they show subdued emotions and are much less active than usual. There was one case in a zoo where the son of a chimpanzee mother who died would not come out of his den, eat or play and eventually died from it.
