The answer is “yes”. Chimpanzees that seem domesticated and acclimated to human society periodically go violent and attack humans. Interestingly, wild chimpanzees do *not* attack humans; they are afraid of humans and have not realized that they are stronger than humans.
Frans de Waal, an acclaimed primatologist, has called captive chimpanzee attacks on humans “definitely common”.
