    Yes, chemists do study global warming, depending on what they specialize in.  Studying the chemistry of the atmosphere is the key to determining how global warming is developing.  Also, Environmental Chemistry studies global warming issues as well.  How additional pollutants in the air is affecting water can be studied in detail this way.
