In some cases, yes. Most of these additional calories are from sugar, and contain no real nutritional value. Processed foods also tend to not contain all essential nutrients, meaning that they might fill you up more and give more energy, but your body needs other trace elements present in organic foods that might not e in cheap, processed foods. Processed foods also contribute to the harm humans are doing to the environment, as the packaging and production of these foods can take up huge amounts of energy, and create waste.
