Cars are considered an anthropogenic source of pollution, which means it is caused by humans, so cars and humans cannot really be pitted against each other in terms of pollution. If humans hadn’t created cars and didn’t drive cars then cars would neither exist or create pollution. There are a lot of other things that humans also do that emit carbon dioxide too, like mining, burning of coal and wood, growing crops/raising animals for consumption and traveling (along with many, many others).
