Do bison or water buffalo get bigger?

    Male American bison can grow to lengths of 11.5 feet and weigh up to 2200 lb. Domestic male water buffalo range in size from 880 to 2000 lbs, but their counterparts in the wild can weigh up to 2600 lbs.

    Water buffalo weigh more than american bison and are slightly longer, but the bison is taller. Male wild water buffalos are recorded to weigh up to 2600 lbs and 10 ft long, while male american bisons weigh up to 2400 lbs and get 8 ft long. American bison are about 6 ft tall from ground to head, while water buffalos average 5’9 from ground to head.
