Do ATM machines use a lot of power?

One example, the Triton 9100 consumes 2 Amps at 115 Volts, or 1 Amp at 230 Volts. That’s a fairly large amount of power to be running 24/7, especially when multiplied by all the ATMs around the world.

According to an article on Toronto Dominion Bank, some banks are thinking about using ATMs with solar panels on them to help limit the energy consumption.
