Animals definitely do have personalities. A great example that we can see pretty much anywhere is in dogs. Dogs show classic personality traits. In the same way humans smile or frown, dogs wag their tails or tuck their tail between their legs, expressing joy or defeat. Dogs also show different traits based on breed. We also see this in house cats when they choose to “needle” to show protection or show their bellies to show security. Elephants have been known to have vibrant personalities. Every animal has different personality traits based on their environment, how they live, and numerous other factors impacting the way they act.
