Yes, very much so, although it’s mostly farm animals that contribute to climate change. Because we have such a huge reliance on cheap meat products, a huge amount of livestock is needed. It is believed that, through the release of methane gas and other effects from having so much livestock, that these animals contribute to as much as 18 percent of all greenhouse gases. That rivals even the transportation sector of emissions.
