Do alligators need to sunbath in order to digest food

According to “[Alligators] rely on the sun for energy hence the reason they are often seen basking in the sun. If their body temperature is not above 65 degrees, they can’t digest their food.” Since alligators are cold-blooded animals, they rely on outside sources of heat, generally the sun’s rays, to heat their bodies.
